Welcome to Marissa!
After months of searching (since May!) and auditioning guitarists all over NC and GA, IMPERIAL FRIEND is very happy to announce the addition of Marissa Jones, to the band. We have been talking to Marissa since July, and working on songs long distance together, but we finally had our first in-person practice last weekend! Marissa is from Covington, GA, and has been musical her whole life, from child singer/performer to the badass, 8-string wielding guitarist she is now.
We are really excited to have Marissa join the band. She writes killer guitar parts, putting careful thought to not only what is going to sound great, but also what fits lyrically and with the mood of each song. She is intentional in her rock, has a mean pedal and gear game, and as a bonus, she is super cool and fun. A big WHOOHOO and welcome to Marissa - we can't wait to make our rock and roll dreams come true with you!
We will be playing our inaugral show as IMPERIAL FRIEND on Thursday, November 12, opening for the fabulous Vicious Devil at Flicker in Athens, GA and you better be there with bells on, or at least earplugs.
